Ingredients
Here's what you need to make this recipe.
- Brussels sprouts
- olive oil--or any cooking oil of choice.
- agave syrup--for sweetness! It's sometimes called agave nectar. Maple syrup or vegan honey make a fine substitute.
- Sriracha sauce--for spiciness!
- garlic powder--just for an extra little touch of flavor.
- salt -- To enhance the flavors. You could use soy sauce as a substitute.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Here are step-by-step instructions with photos.
Wash and prep the Brussels sprouts. For each sprout, remove the stem, cut the Brussels sprout in half and remove any excess leaves.
Add the Brussels sprouts and all of the other ingredients to a bowl. Mix to coat the Brussels sprouts.
Add the Brussels sprouts to a lined air fryer basket. (No need to preheat!)
Cook for 14 to 16 minutes, stopping a few times to shake the basket.
Garnish and serve right away!
Hint: Use an air fryer basket liner for easy cleanup. If you don't have basket liners, you can make one by cutting a piece of baking paper a little larger than the size of the basket and folding up the sides.

How to serve
Serve these Air Fryer Brussels sprouts as a delicious side dish to Teriyaki Tofu. Or pair with Buffalo Tofu and Padron Pepper as an appetizer. These would pair well with
Storage
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For maximum crispiness, reheat in the air fryer!
Top tip
Be sure to check at least once to shake the basket. If you notice more browning on the Brussels sprouts on the outside try moving them into the center, and moving those in the center out (as things tend to cook a bit quicker on the outer edge).
FAQ
I prefer to remove the exterior leaves because they can be dirty or unappealing. As you prep the sprouts, more leaves will fall off. You can include them if you want; however, they cook significantly faster, so be sure to remove them before they burn (about halfway through the regular cooking time). If you get them out in time, they are crunchy and delicious!
Choose the air fryer that best meets your needs. Consider things like price, size, and functionality. I personally love my Ninja Foodi 5-in-1 Grill and Air Fryer, because it has a bigger capacity, which better suits my family of four.

It's up to you. Since this is a stickier recipe, I prefer to use an air fryer basket liner for easy cleanup.
