Instructions
Here are step-by-step instructions with photos.
Add the snow peas to a large mixing bowl. Choose one flavor combo (Sweet & Spicy Asian --or-- Garlic Oregano). In a separate bowl whisk together the seasoning ingredients (not including optional garnishes).
Pour the seasoning over the snow peas and use tongs or a spoon to gently toss the snow peas until they are coated in the seasoning.
Use tongs to transfer the snow peas to a lined air fryer basket. Cook at 400F or 200C for 10 minutes, stopping halfway to shake the basket. (No need to preheat!)
Garnish and serve right away!
Hint: Use an air fryer liner like the one pictured above for easy cleanup!
Variations
Here are a few ways to switch things up.
- Sugar Snap Peas - Swap Sugar Snap Peas for snow peas. They are almost identical in flavor. Due the the difference in bulk, they might take a minute or two longer to cook.
- Extra spicy! - Double the amount of Sriracha or add chili flakes as a garnish.
- Mushroom topped - top with air fryer frozen mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
Equipment
For this recipe, you need an air fryer and a mixing bowl or two. Tongs are also great for tossing the snow peas and transferring them to the air fryer.

How to serve
Serve these air-fried snow peas as a side dish or an appetizer. The Sweet and Spicy Asian Snow Peas pair perfectly with Asian-inspired dishes like teriyaki tofu or orange tofu. Double up your veggies with these Sweet and Spicy Brussels Sprouts!
The Garlic and Oregano Snap Peas would go well alongside Buffalo Tofu in an appetizer spread.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Re-crisp in the air fryer before serving or add cold atop a salad.
Top tip
Transferring the snow peas to the air fryer with tongs will avoid excess liquid and help with more even cooking. Save any excess liquid to drizzle over the snow peas before serving.
FAQ
Snow Peas and Sugar Snap Peas are both green with an edible pod, can be eaten raw, and have a similar flavor. The biggest difference is that Snow peas are flat, due to having smaller peas inside, while Snap peas are bulkier and have a slightly sweeter flavor.
Choose the air fryer that best meets your needs. Consider things like price, size, and functionality. I personally love my Ninja Foodi 5-in-1 Grill and Air Fryer, because it has a bigger capacity, which better suits my family of four.

Notes
- Nutritional info is calculated for the Sweet and Spicy Asian flavor.
- No need to preheat the air fryer for this recipe!
- Snow Peas sometimes have a hard stem at one end, but I find that cooking them generally softens them enough to make them edible. If you don't like them, then trim the stems before cooking.

Air Fryer and food safety tips
Here are a few safety tips for cooking with an air fryer.
- Cook food to a minimum temperature of 165 °F (74 °C)
- Use oils with a high smoking point to avoid harmful compounds
- Always use oven mitts or some protective hand covering when shaking the basket or removing food from the air fryer.
- Hot air comes out the back of the air fryer. Try to keep the back of the air fryer at least a hands length away from the wall, other ingredients, or anything else that could be damaged by heat.
