Air Fryer Cinnamon Tortilla Chips might just be the perfect sweet and crunchy snack! With flour tortillas and a few pantry ingredients, you can make this yummy air fryer dessert in less than 20 minutes.

When you're craving a sweet snack or dessert but don't have a lot of motivation, these easy Air Fryer Cinnamon Tortilla Chips are here to save you! They are the perfect combo of sweet and crunchy!
In testing this recipe, I tried several methods for making these sweet tortilla chips but the one described below was the easiest and most efficient way.
I tested sprinkling the cinnamon sugar mixture on both one just side versus both sides, and I was surprised by how much of a flavor difference it made to add the seasoning to both sides!
In addition to the prep, I also tried air frying the tortilla chips at different temperatures and in the end, cooking at a lower temperature for a little longer resulted in chips that were crunchy but not overcooked.
In the end, this recipe turned out to be an easy and delicious way to make a homemade snack in the air fryer. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Here's what you need to make this recipe.
- 7-inch flour tortillas -- I don't recommend corn tortillas.
- vegan butter --this acts both to help the cinnamon sugar topping stick and to add a little richness to this recipe.
- sugar -- for a little sweetness and texture
- cinnamon -- for the flavor!
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
Here are step-by-step instructions with photos.
Preheat the air fryer to 325F/160C.
Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut each of the tortillas into 8 triangles.
Melt the butter and set aside. (This will take about a minute in a sauce pot over low heat or a few seconds in the microwave.) Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in a separate bowl. Set aside.
Brush the tortilla triangles with butter on both sides.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the tortilla triangles, then flip the tortillas over to sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the other side.
Add the tortillas to the air fryer. Try to spread them in an even layer.
Cook for 12 to 14 minutes, stopping a few times to shake the basket and move the tortillas around.
Let the tortilla chips sit in the hot air fryer basket with the lid open for 1 to 2 minutes after cooking. (This will help them get crunchy without cooking more). Then serve right away.
Hint: Sprinkling the cinnamon sugar mixture from higher up (like a TV chef sprinkling salt) will help give you more even coverage.
Variations
Here are a few ways to switch things up.
- Sweet & Spicy - add pinch of chili powder
- Dip - serve the chips with a sweet yogurt dip.
- Strips - Cut the tortillas into strips, toss with the butter, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar, then cook according to these directions for air fryer tortilla strips.
Equipment
For this recipe, you need an air fryer, a cutting board, knife or pizza cutter, and a small pot or microwave-safe bowl to melt the butter.
All of my favorite products and kitchen tools can be found in my Amazon shop.
How to serve
Serve these air fryer cinnamon sugar tortilla chips as an easy dessert or sweet snack. For an extra special treat, they could also but crunched up and sprinkled over air fryer nectarines!
Storage
Wait until the tortilla strips have cooled completely to store. Store at room temperature in a container with a loosely fitting lid for up to 3 days.
Top tip
Sprinkling the cinnamon sugar from higher up will help it spread more evenly, plus it's kind of fun to act like a TV chef.
FAQ
I haven't tested this recipe with corn tortillas. However, they tend to be a different size, texture, and flavor than flour tortillas. With some adjustments, it could be possible, but I don't recommend it.

Air Fryer and food safety tips
